BRISTOL: Would you let your child pose for this ad? The poster is Bristol City Council’s effort at getting pet owners to pick up their pooch’s poop and it’s making a stink worldwide. It warns residents to pick up the pet poop or risk a fine of $1,566 U.S. People who catch lawbreakers in the act are asked to report the smelly crime.
The poster shows a child with an unidentified brown substance smeared across her face and hands, along with a photo of what looks like dog feces. The caption reads: “Children will put anything in their mouths.” The image is repugnant at best.
Locals think the ad is crap and others have taken to twitter to voice rancor over the anti-poop posters. The council is standing by it’s stool ridden ad and tweeted back: Shocking imagery, but perhaps it will help encourage a few more dog owners to do the responsible thing.
The effectiveness of the poster’s message has yet to be seen. The backlash of this child’s emotional well being after growing up and seeing herself in this ad has also yet to be seen.
