TEXAS: A 61-year old Texas woman was accused of child molestation but says she didn’t do it.
Her defense? She couldn’t have molested a 7-year old African American girl because she’s racist. Esther Stokes, teacher at Northwest Preparatory Academy Charter School, told investigators “she doesn’t like black students because she (is) prejudiced.”
According to the Houston Chronicle, the 7-year old student told police that Stokes sent all the students out of the classroom and touched her on her “private part” on the outside of her clothing. The student told Stokes to stop at which time Stokes told her to get out of the classroom. Stokes “made her stand outside of the classroom in the hallway and refused to allow her to eat lunch and take a test.”
Records indicate that the child did not eat lunch that day. Stokes also took a lie detector test and failed.
She has been let go.
I give the defendant high marks for creativity. This defense is far more inspired than the “The Other Dude Did It” defense. (Yes, this is a real defense raised in Georgia.) We’ll see how the “I’m Too Racist” defense plays out at trial.
