MISSOURI: What’s in a name? Everything when it comes to your high school yearbook. Just ask Kaitlyn Booth, the student yearbook staffer who decided it would be a fun prank to change Raigan Mastain’s last name to, er, “masturbate.” But officials had no sense of humor when it came to this touchy subject and arrested 17-year old Booth for harassment and destruction of property, a felony.
Booth’s prank affected more than 700 yearbooks. Reprinting them would have cost the school $41,000. Instead, the yearbook staff fixed Mastain’s name for the online version, and spent 12 hours placing stickers over the misprint, Gawker reported.
Charges by the district attorney could mean that the prankster with poor taste may be trading in her cap and gown for a bright orange jumpsuit.
