FLORIDA: A man and his wife called police to report that an intruder had entered their home and attacked the wife. The wife told officers that while her husband had gone to the store, a masked intruder burst into the bedroom, bounced her off the bed and slashed her face with a sharp object.
The husband told officers that when he returned from the store, he saw a “mysterious figure crouching near the house.” He also said that while running the errand, he thought a car had been following him.
The husband’s story sounded suspicious. Too many inconsistencies raised a red flag. After a thorough and sifting interrogation, he cracked under pressure and admitted that it was he who was the man behind the mask.
His motive? He suspected his wife was cheating. It seems the thought of open dialogue, marriage counseling or even divorce never crossed his mind.
